Our target was to design a hatch that allows fluid exchange, but at the same time sufficient calming of pressure differences during all phases of flight. For high altitude and low pressure flight, a hatch was used that opened the access to a measurement chamber once a certain altitude was reached. These simulations of shallow water can be used to approximate behaviour of supersonic air speeds.
